In accordance with article 38, caput of federal law 9610/1998, as well as article 14 of the Berne Convention, promulgated in Brazil through decree 75699/1975, the owner of this artistic work, when commercializing it, must transfer it to the artist or his successors, as a resale right, the amount corresponding to 50% (fifty) of the profit that may be earned with this new commercial transaction (resale) within a period of 30 days. If the author does not receive his resale right within the stipulated period, the seller is considered depositary of the amount owed to him, unless the transaction is carried out by an auctioneer, when this will be the depositary (as determined in the sole paragraph of article 38 of the federal law 9610/1998).

No Martins , born in 1987 in São Paulo, where he lives and works, Martins initially circulated through the graffiti universe in the city. He then attended the engraving workshops at Oficina Cultural Oswald de Andrade – where he was a student of artists such as Rosana Paulino and Kika Levy – and also studied a degree in History and Visual Arts.

His artistic practice encompasses painting, performance, installation and experimentation with objects, based on research into everyday interpersonal relationships, amidst issues such as racism, police violence and mass incarceration.

Over the last ten years, the artist has participated in numerous individual and collective exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, with emphasis on the acclaimed exhibition “Afro-Atlântica Stories”, held in 2018 at MASP – Museu de Arte de São Paulo and Instituto Tomie Ohtake. More recently, in 2019, Martins received the Sesc Contemporary Art Award , for his participation in the 21st Sesc_VideoBrasil Contemporary Art Biennial, in which he presented the series #JaBasta! , a set of paintings that reflect on police violence and the criminalization of the young black population who live on the outskirts of large cities in Brazil.
