Silia Moan , born in 1897, in Escada - Pernambuco, Silia Moan had her first contact with art through her maternal grandmother, in the municipality of Frexeiras - PE, Zona da Mata Sul. Among the scraps that her grandmother gathered to embroider quilts , inspiration arises for paintings with different colors and overlapping techniques. What stands out in his productions is the combination of drawing and painting techniques such as dry pastel, acrylic and watercolor, mainly on paper. The central figure of his artistic representations are the relationships between the inhabitants of the forest, circulating between the markers of transformations in their bodies and environments. One of these markers are dreams and their moments of exchanging bodies between humans and non-humans. Among his solo exhibitions is Entre Fronteiras, exhibited at the Federal Senate Art Gallery (Brasília, 2017) and also at the Memorial of the Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories – TJDFT (Brasília, 2016). She was selected for the 19th edition of Abre Alas, by Gentil Carioca, in 2024. She has been a collaborator at the Instituto Socioambiental since 2018, working in the executive secretariat of Rede Xingu+ and coordinating the Xingu+ Communicators. She has been a master's student at MESPT since 2021 and investigates the epistemic relationships of ways of communicating between indigenous peoples and those living on the edge of the Xingu.
